BXUG 10 Year Celebration at FLC Recap
10/25/2010 posted by The Kezners @ 2:24am
We had an awesome time playing at FLC to celebrate the Bronx Underground turning ten year's old! The show at FLC was full of nostalgia and testament to the effectiveness of the DIY music scene. We were honored to be a part of such a special show which featured an amazing line-up of bands. We were especially excited to be playing once again with our friends in What's Your Problem Brian and Dibs on Anthony! It felt as though we were teenagers again, playing at Waterberries or the Manheim Beach Club.
Over the years, The Bronx Underground has spawned a welcoming and diverse music scene and it's this assemblage of various genres that make the shows exciting. The Bronx Underground hosted most of the early shows we played and exposed us to a wide audience. As a band, to be offered a show is a big deal. Playing music, despite all of the stereotypes, is a tough job. You put your heart and soul into writing songs, practice the songs, struggle to carry your guitar amps and drums everywhere - all for the hope that somebody feels moved by the music, making it all worth it. Without the Bronx Underground, we wouldn't have had that outlet. They gave us a reason to keep doing something which meant the world to us.
You can read full recaps of the show in The Daily News and The Bronx Ink. Here are some photos from the Oct 8th show at FLC:
